2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 35th Anniversary Edition

A manual transmission. A turbocharged engine. A limited anniversary edition. Apparently, Volkswagen still remembers that driving is supposed to be fun.**

Meet this 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 2.0T 35th Anniversary Edition, finished in attention grabbing Tornado Red and equipped with something increasingly difficult to find in a modern sport sedan: an honest to goodness 6 speed manual transmission.

No paddle shifters pretending to be exciting. No computer making every decision for you. Just three pedals, a proper gearshift, and the satisfaction of actually participating in the driving experience.

Under the hood is Volkswagen's impressive 2.0L TSI turbocharged four cylinder engine producing 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the 6 speed manual and front wheel drive, this GLI delivers responsive acceleration, sharp handling, and the kind of European sport sedan personality that makes even an ordinary commute considerably more entertaining.

And this isn't just any Jetta GLI.

**It's the 35th Anniversary Edition.**

Created to celebrate 35 years of Volkswagen's performance sedan heritage, this special edition features distinctive anniversary styling, unique badging, black exterior accents, exclusive wheel design, and a sport tuned suspension with adaptive damping. It's a little more distinctive, a little more aggressive, and considerably more interesting than the average compact sedan.

But here's where this particular GLI gets even better.

And despite its turbocharged performance credentials, this GLI delivers an EPA estimated **25 MPG city and 32 MPG highway**. Because enjoying your drive shouldn't require a second job to fund your fuel purchases.

Inside, you'll find a driver focused cockpit, supportive sport seating, modern connectivity, and the practical four door versatility that makes the Jetta GLI such a compelling alternative to traditional sports cars. It's fun when you want it, comfortable when you need it, and practical enough that nobody can accuse you of making a completely irresponsible decision.
